FAQ

ARRIVAL AND DEPARTURE / VISA

Please note that, depending on our schedule, cruise departure or arrival can sometimes be from/to Port Ghaleb (2h30 drive from Hurghada airport or 30 min drive from Marsa Alam Airport). Corresponding airport transfers will be provided. Also depending on the schedule, the first or last night can be spent in a hotel in Hurghada or Port Ghaleb.

After passing the entry authority, you go to claim your luggage, a representative will welcome you with a sign upon arrival at the airport and will bring you to the air-conditioned bus to transfer you to the boat.

please note that you will need to purchase a visa for 25 USD at a bank counter prior to passport control.

Saturday

  • Check in from 12.00 p.m ( please note cabins will be ready not before noon time as we need some time to clean )
  • 18.30: Dinner (snacks or dinner available for those arriving on later flights)
  • 2000: Safety Briefing, documents, Cabin and Equipment setup. First night on board in the Marina

Sunday

  • Departure around 10am, after port clearance and start diving

Monday to Thursday 

  • Up to 4 include Night Dive (Please note night dives are prohibited at all marine park islands!) sailing overnight is required

Friday

  • 2 dives and return to port and last night onboard at the Marina.

Saturday

  • 0800: Breakfast
  • Up until 10:00 a.m Depart the vessel. Should you be leaving on an afternoon flight, you may leave your luggage aboard for pickup later.

Sample itineraries and maps are for illustrative purposes only. The exact route and sites visited are subject to change based on local regulations, guest experience, weather and logistics, and is at the Captain’s discretion.

Level of Dive Experience, recommended to dive BDE Route minimum 50 + dives with AOW or equivalent level same as for Rocky & Zabagard. North and Sataya Fury Shoal Route 30 + dives with AOW level.

SAFETY ON BOARD

Safety onboard of our boats is an important issue to us, the captain and crew members and our experienced dive guides are all trained in first aid and oxygen supply. We obligate that our Cruise Directors conduct a safety briefing with all guests upon check-in

Participation in all dives, especially the wreck dives, depends on the diving qualification and the experience of each guest. Strong currents must be considered. All route destinations are subject to approval by the Egyptian authorities, the coast guard and the port police. All routes are subject to change and may change at short notice due to weather conditions or official orders. The final course of the live aboard will be determined in consultation with the group on board. If dives are missed or diving locations are not approached due to weather conditions or other unpredictable changes, we will not issue a refund or compensation, this includes technical defects as well as all Marine Park fees and Port fees. Strong current is common and must be taken into account. Night dives and snorkeling are prohibited in the National Park Ras Mohamed / Brothers / Daedalus /Elphinstone

SPARE PARTS/ DIVE AND TRAVEL INSURANCE / MEDICAL FORMS

We also recommend that you have the most important spare parts, such as mask and a repair kit for your type of regulator with you. Please also remember batteries, gaskets and accumulators for your

dive lamp and dive computer.

Dive insurance: It is recommended that you take out insurance up to a depth of 40 meters. It is your responsibility to ensure that you have sufficient insurance to cover all aspects of your vacation.

On board you can purchase diving insurance at the cost of 40 euro per week.

 

Medical Dive Declaration: A medical questionnaire must be completed upon arrival on board.

 

PAYMENT AND CANCELLATION CONDITIONS

At the time of booking, a 25% deposit is due immediately.

The booking is only considered confirmed after receipt of the deposit. The remaining payment is due 6 weeks before the start of the safari.

In the event of cancellation of a booked diving trip, the following cancellation costs are due:

  • Up to 90 days before the start of the trip, 25% of the trip price.
  • From 91 days before the start of the trip or in the event of a no-show/failure to start the trip, 100% of the trip price.
TIPPING

As in almost all holiday countries, it is customary to show its recognition and tip your crew for the week

 – an amount of 80 EUR per guest is recommended.

MARINE PARK FEE

The marine park fee was introduced in 2019 as part of a broader effort to protect the marine environment in the Red Sea and applies to all visitors.

Here are some of the conservation initiatives that have been funded by the marine park fee:

Removal of illegal fishing nets

Establishment of marine protected areas

Development of educational programs

Those fee,s apply to every Person on board

EQUIPMENT RENTAL

is normally not available on board. If you need rental equipment, please contact us at least a view days before your arrival so that we can ensure that the equipment is on board for you. Price on request.

MEDICATION

We have basic emergency medication on board. If you feel that you may need specific

medication while traveling, please bring a small supply with you. Make sure you don’t forget about

stomach and diarrhea medication, seasickness pills, or patches and ear drops, and make sure they

don’t affect your ability to dive.

PORTS

The port of embarkation depends on the schedule and route of our ships. We

reserve the right to accommodate guests for the first or last night at the resort, the final

arrival / departure port is the responsibility of the owner and can change depending on the

booking / route. If the need arises, we reserve the right to change boats.

We offer SSI courses on all of our boats. SSI’s digital learning system offers many advantages:

MISCELLANEOUS

WLAN

Connections at sea are very low. We offer WIFI connection on the first and last day of the trip. You can purchase an Egyptian SIM card at Airport arrival.

Electricity

Sockets on board have 220V

 

Should problems, defects, or inconveniences occur, give this information immediately to your dive guide. ONLY then we can help. Do not wait until the end of the safari.

If you wish to sleep outside, please bring with you a sleeping bag and use the mattresses from the sundeck.

PLACE OF JURISDICTION

Disputes between you as a guest and New Life Live aboard must always be settled by the court of the country in which the provider is registered. Jurisdiction is Egypt / Ship license 101107 Ministry of Tourism.
