The currents in the South Red Sea can be strong, so divers should be experienced and comfortable with drift diving. However, the rewards of diving in the South Red Sea are great. The reefs are home to some of the most beautiful and diverse coral in the world, and the marine life is abundant.

[/et_pb_text][/et_pb_column][et_pb_column type=”1_2″ _builder_version=”4.16″ _module_preset=”default” custom_padding=”|||” global_colors_info=”{}” custom_padding__hover=”|||”][et_pb_text admin_label=”Top Destination Text” _builder_version=”4.17.1″ _module_preset=”default” text_font=”Roboto||||” text_font_size=”16px” text_line_height=”1.9em” custom_padding=”||0px|||” animation_style=”slide” animation_direction=”top” animation_intensity_slide=”4%” locked=”off” global_colors_info=”{}”]

BROTHERS DAEDALUS ELPHINSTONE ROUTE

Known as the ‘Simply the Best’, this itinerary is a ‘must’ for divers because of the diversity and richness of marine life. You’ll find stunning underwater landscapes at Brothers Islands with steep walls and pristine reefs. Daedalus is a mecca for shark enthusiasts as it’s home to hammerheads, oceanic white tips, threshers, reef sharks and mantas. Elphinstone reef, with its abundance of colourful soft corals, giant morays and large pelagic species – including hammerheads and oceanic white tips – is a fantastic location for underwater photography. Overall, this itinerary offers a perfect mix of adrenaline-filled diving and stunning marine scenery.

BROTHERS ISLANDS

The Brothers are 2 islands located 60 km off the village of Quseir, in Egyptian territorial waters. These islands are made up of volcanic rocks. On the large island, about 600 m long, there is a lighthouse built in the 19th century by the English. In the north of the island are 2 beautiful wrecks that you can discover during your dives. The Numidia (1901), very concreted, is between 12 and 83 meters deep. The wreck is almost vertical. A vertiginous dive on a very colorful drop off. The Aida 2 (1958), an Egyptian army boat supplying the islands and carrying the relief of the guards, is barely 100 meters from the Numidia at a depth of 30 to 63 m. It is not uncommon to come across a thresher shark in this area. The small island made up of the same rock as the large one, measures approximately 200 m long. It is a real nugget. Between gorgonian garden, black coral, pelagic passage, you will be enchanted by the richness of this reef.

DAEDALUS REEF

Daedalus Reef is a 400-meter-long and 100-meter-wide (1,310–330 ft) standalone reef in the Egyptian Red Sea situated about 90 kilometers from Marsa Alam and marked by a lighthouse. The diving area Daedalus is mainly known for its abundance of large fish. The exposed location on the high seas, you can often see large schools of sharks (white tips, gray reef sharks, hammerhead sharks thresher sharks) views. Legendary is also the mighty Napoleon on the west side. However, special ”Highlight” are the hammerhead sharks that can be encountered on a good day to dozens here. Whether you get to see something, of course, is a matter of luck.

ELPHINSTONE

Reef The Reef of Elphinstone, a truly legendary reef, is one of the most beautiful reefs in the Red Sea, with its north and south plateau, walls covered with soft corals, black corals, and gorgonians. Hammerhead Sharks and the King of the Red Sea – Longimanus are often seen here.

[/et_pb_text][/et_pb_column][/et_pb_row][/et_pb_section]

The South Red Sea is a challenging but rewarding diving destination.south & BDEThe South Red Sea is a challenging but rewarding diving destination.
